The John Finn Ordnanceman of the Year Award

GUESS WHAT?!?!! Josh has won the Navy/Marine Corps John Finn Ordnanceman of the Year award!!!! Whoo hooo!!!! He beat out every single Marine and Sailor who was put up for the award!!!! Isn't that AMAZING?! Congratulations baby!!! I am so proud of you!! You have worked so hard for that!!! You are such a good Marine; you deserved it!!!
And, the award is to be presented in Reno!!!! YEA! So, Josh may get to come home sometime soon to recieve the reward!!! EVERYONE PRAY!!! He will find out tomorrow when the ceremony is being held and if they will send him from Iraq for it! Which, they SHOULD because this is a MAJOR award!! And if they do, I am gonna take leave to go up there and see him!! AND.... if its close enough to when their advance party is due home... maybe they will let him just stay here instead of sending him back for, like, a month or so! So, please, we are asking for everyone's prayers in this!

oh! And the man that you see in the picture is none other than retired Lt. John Finn himself!! He is well into his 90's and the last Medal of Honor recipient of The Day of Infamy (the day of the Pearl Harbor & Kaneohe Bay bombings in Hawaii!). Josh will get to meet him! How cool is that?! He will be there at the awards ceremony!!! I'm so excited that Josh gets to meet him (again! Lol, he's actually already met him before!). I will be snapping away pictures like CRAZY!! Haha!!! And ya know what? = ) Josh is that kind of Marine... the kind who would, if duty ever called him to it, would sacrifice himself for the good of others. That's what makes him the leader that he is. = ) A great leader, a wonderful man, and the man that I love with all my heart! It makes him a man like John Finn... and all the other great Medal of Honor recipients...

Congratulations baby! I am so proud of you!! I am hoping and praying for Reno!! Love, Jess

Congratualations to Sgt Quigley for winning the The Association of Aviation Ordnacemen’s John W. Finn Aviation Ordnancemen of the Year Award for 2007. Due to his uncommon professionalism and sustained superior performance, he was selected over all other candidates from the Navy and Marine Corps, active duty and reserve. This highly prestigious award is named after AOC (later Lt) John W. Finn, Medal of Honor recipient from WWII, for heroic action during the attack on Kaneohe Bay on December 7th, 1941.

Well deserved!
