Well, it's official. Jess and I will be leaving San Diego on February 6th, headed East, 1,010 miles, to good ol' Lubbock TX.
My time in San Diego has been amazing. Since October 2002, I have spent my time here (off and on because of deployments) exploring the many beaches, hills, parks, restaurants, and attractions that San Diego and Southern California has to offer. It has to be the most amazing place to live, as we are 10 minutes from the beach, 30 minutes from the hills, 3 hours from some amazing mountains, and 2 hours from the desert. San Diego has everything, but with everything comes EVERYONE. Even though the San Diego metropolitan area has a population of 3,146,274 people (2008), certain areas of town let you forget that you are in the middle of it all. We have grown to love this town, and will be sad to leave.
We are looking forward to taking the next step of our lives. We are excited about college, being closer to our families, and being closer to New Mexico and Colorado, where we plan to spend many days hiking and backpacking.
Between now and then, we are just living life the best we can, enjoying every second of the warm winter, under the beautiful San Diego skies...
Until next time
